He was created, with God’s love, to have dominance and
inheritance in Eden; he was given Eve to continue the plan
of God for man not being alone in this new land.
However, God also had a plan for when His own creation, made in His image, would fall and who would redeem them, and future generations, later on in time. The Second Adam to redeem came to be God’s own Son, Jesus Christ.
The similarities between Adam and Eve and Jesus and His Eve, the Bride of Christ, are numerous, which author Paul Newman discusses in his new comparison study, The Second Adam and the Deception of His Eve.
The main message to understand is that we are born with the Adamic nature in us to sin and sometimes exercise our free wills in the wrong way. It isn’t until the Second Adam, Jesus, came to die on the cross and be buried and resurrected do we have the chance to come clean from our ancestors’ mistakes and be made new.
Paul explores the early indications of Adam and Eve’s disobedience to God through Eve’s belief in the lies of Satan and her lack of knowledge in God’s Word. Satan’s awareness of her weaknesses provided the opening he needed to deceive God’s chosen, leading to the Fall of man and the need for Jesus’ redemption.
From there, the comparisons emerge in how Eve’s deceptions are the same approaches and lies Satan uses today to deceive and corrupt Jesus’ chosen Bride, the Church. Paul hopes readers takes this study as a sign that we need to become invested in the Word of God and know Satan will use the same tactics for Eve on believers today.
We can stop Satan in his tracks by understanding the blueprints that were ordained in heaven, copied in the Old Testament and made alive with transforming power through demonstration in the New Testament.
