This book attempts to bring enlightenment on good parenting to current and future parents from the wisdom amassed by a mother of two males who have grown to be successful young men and husbands. The inspiration for the book came from her observation of the negative impact of poor parenting habits on children that affect them even in their adult life. The wisdom shared in this book is based on her real-life experiences raising her sons, particularly sharing insights on what is imperative to know to become a better or good parent. The book supports the text with practical, reflective and exciting activities to meaningfully engage the readers and maps out a journey of eureka moments and excitement to arrive at the destination of good parenting that can transform the lives of children globally. The activities are strategically designed and positioned to motivate the readers to reflect on the type of parent they are and to take the necessary actions to become better parents. It is hoped that this resource will begin a global conversation on what good parenting is. Our world needs better parents to save our children and youths from a life of doom.

Hyacinth Dorleon, a Monitoring Evaluation Research and Learning consultant from the island of Saint Lucia has been an educator and community and youth development activist for more than 30 years. Her favourite pastimes include painting and designing. During her years working with children and youths, she observed how poor parenting affected their ability to become good citizens or develop into the best version of themselves as ordained by God. She concluded that children who lacked healthy parenting most likely turned out to be aggressive, withdrawn, disrespectful and ultimately the bullies and 'outcasts' of society: A trajectory carved out for them which was very unfair. Being altruistic in nature and having a passion for being of service to humanity, she has committed to engage in projects focussed on improving people’s life chances. This book is one of such projects specifically designed to provide mentorship for good parenting.
