According to a recent report, the average royalty rate paid to authors by traditional publishers is a meager 10.7%. Other on-demand publisher you find online pay a higher royalty rate, but usually it’s only between 15% and 30%. That means for all your hard work, they keep most of the money. What does Xulon Press pay? We pay a royalty rate of 100% for all bookstore sales! We want you to earn back the investment of your time and money by giving you generous royalties. We are the only publisher who offers a 100% royalty rate on all copies sold to bookstores, and a 75% royalty on all other sales. You keep it all; we keep nothing.

How do we calculate your royalty?

For all books sold to wholesalers and retailers (to distributors, bookstores, libraries, etc.) you get 100% of what’s left over after the discount and after the cost to print the book. We keep nothing.

For example: If a bookstore pays us $8.50 for your book, then you get the entire $8.50 minus the cost to print the book.

For all books sold at full retail, directly to individuals, you get 75% of what’s left over after the cost to print the book. This includes all sales via our Online Bookstore.

For example: If an individual pays us $14.99 for your book, then you get 75% of $14.99 minus the cost to print the book.

We cannot tell you the exact amount which you will receive per book sold. That is because the discounts and costs will vary by order. The cost to print your book will also vary. Generally you’ll receive from $2.00 to $5.00 per book sold to wholesalers, and up to $7.50 per book sold to individuals. You will receive a detailed royalty report each quarter.
