Is Your Book’s Copyright Safe? Protect Your Copyright!
When you published your book, you automatically acquired the copyright to it. You own 100% of the rights to your book because we published it with the copyright in your name (reference the “copyright page” of your book). However, there are occasions when authors still experience gross violations of their copyright! Dishonest and fraudulent individuals take your words, stories, and ideas and plagiarize them. This is not an uncommon practice and copyright infringement has increased on a massive scale over the past 5 to 10 years.
Imagine opening up a book written by another person and seeing your words inside (the words you worked so hard to write). Then imagine how powerless you’d feel if you couldn’t do anything about it. Or imagine your book selling hundreds (even thousands) of copies with no royalty!
We want to help you prevent such copyright abuse, to protect your efforts and hard work. So we are working with the U.S. Copyright Office in Washington, D.C. to provide all of our authors with the proper legal protection they need to guard themselves and their works from copyright violations.
Here is how Xulon Press will protect your copyright:
- Prepare and deliver to the U.S. Copyright Office all legal documentation.
- Track the filing throughout the copyright process until you receive an actual Certification of copyright.
- Deliver a PDF copy of your book to the U.S. Copyright Office.
This gives you the maximum legal protection under federal law. With this in hand, you can defend yourself and your work in the event of a copyright violation. You’ll have the full force of the federal government behind your work, dissuading counterfeit and theft of your intellectual property.
Be advised that final acceptance and processing of your copyright by the US Copyright office can take a year or more. When you order the Copyright service, we will send you an email immediately with important information for your records and then send your filing to the US Copyright Office once your book is published. We will copyright your book in the same name that appears on the copyright page of your book.
