Tommy wants to know what a dream is and if everyone dreams. His mom points to his puppy, who is asleep on the floor. The puppy moves its legs as if chasing a squirrel in his sleep. She explains a dream is a story one has in his sleep. An angel brings the story. Tommy wants to know what an angel is. Mom explains an angel brings messages from God. Anticipating another question, she explains that God is the one who made the stars, the moon, the earth we walk on, and perhaps even us.
This is the second in a series of seven children’s books. The purpose is to show children that dreams are important, and at the same time, teach parents how to handle their child’s dreams. This book explains to those younger children who may have not experienced dreams, just what a dream is and where it comes from.
Carol Oschmann has been interpreting dreams for others since 1986. She was privileged to do so in a federal women’s prison for several years. She has long sought a way to make all of us, from childhood forward, more aware of the help waiting for us in our dreams. This story came to her in a dream. God is helping with her wish.
