The purpose of this book is not primarily about people giving more money, or about creating a culture of generosity among your people, even though Scriptural disciples will want to give their best. Giving is about discipleship more than the money. This is a book about developing disciples with a specific application on stewardship and giving, and the pastor’s involvement in helping the people do so.
This book was written by an older pastor to help other pastors and ministerial students to find, identify, address, and resolve the often overlooked key factor in discipleship – the me-ism factor. Its scope can be seen in its chapter titles:
The Origin of Stewardship
The Essence of Stewardship
Comparing Giving and Stewardship
Discipleship and the Giving Garden
Cultivating the Giving Garden
Giving – The Essence of Discipleship
Giving – The Essence of Overflowing Joy
Giving – The Key to Christlikeness

The Heavenly Account
Dr. Hallett has invested the last 52 years of his life in the ministry as pastor, evangelist, and Church Stewardship Consultant. As founder (1990) and president of TLC Ministries, Inc., he has worked very closely with hundreds of churches helping them raise major funds for their facilities. He has pioneered the Ministry Approach, which has proven itself to develop very generous stewardship and giving disciples while raising those funds. He draws from his extensive personal experience in the ministry to share with others how the development of disciples can best be accomplished while addressing the attitude issues that are related to giving and stewardship.
While TLC Ministries is a discipleship ministry in a capital campaign setting, this is not a book on capital campaigns. Rather, it guides the pastor in knowing how to develop disciples within the local church. He utilizes extensive Scriptural support for these concepts.
