Why was the book written? It was written with the intent to open the eyes of all Americans and bring healing and restoration to this Nation. It was written to remind us that everyone is capable of pointing fingers at someone for the murders of Blacks and the racial divide we are experiencing. But, at the end of the night only Black families and those who see others as Christ sees us are left weeping at night and hoping not see another day of division among God’s people.
What is this book about? Dr. Hobbs takes a biblical approach by reminding us that we cannot heal and restore this nation and the African American race injustices and racial tensions without prayer, fasting, believing, action, and the love of Christ in our hearts.
Why Should you read this book? To gain a better understanding of the 400 years of injustices and hardship experienced by African Americans in the USA and what it takes to make this country GREAT for ALL Americans.
Where did the idea and title of the book come from? From the heart of the author with fasting and praying. Dr. Hobbs’ compassion and love for his race, family, country, and today’s challenges sprung him into doing research to reflect on his life experiences as an African American living in the USA, with the hopes it would change someone’s life or view point into a positive experience.
When was the book written? The book was written in 2018 and entitled “Building Godly Families” and used at Faith Christian University (FCU) to teach a class on “Building Godly Families”. The title was changed to “Jesus is the Key to Unlocking Healing and Restoration in our Nation” when a chapter was added in 2020 entitled “My Life Matters” at the request of a White Army LTC. After reading “Building Godly Families”, he suggested that the current state of affairs in this country be addressed, as well.
