This book is based on the scripture from Jeremiah 29:11:
James Boston Bussell was born in Lynch, (Harlan County) Kentucky seventy years ago, the son of an African-American coal miner. At eight years old, following his father’s death by natural causes, the family moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. James has had an amazing life, one that has been driven by principles, integrity, and an unwillingness to compromise his dignity. He credits God for His guiding hands in every aspect of his life, including confronting incidences of hatred, racial prejudice and discrimination.
James joined the U. S. Army at age seventeen and served in the Republic of Vietnam from August 1965 to March 1967, where he was award both the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medals for his service. He later enrolled at the University of Tennessee graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
