ABOUT THE AUTHOR
John (Jack) Suffren grew up in Wanamie, Pennsylvania and moved to Nutley, NJ in 1956 after graduating from Wilkes University. Jack taught at Nutley High School, NJ, retiring in 2003 after 47 years of service. His book is part autobiographical, part philosophy, part church-related, part anecdotal, and mostly about the many good people he encountered along the way. It covers his 47-year experiences in teaching and coaching, along with other assorted duties at Nutley High School.
Since retiring from Nutley High School, he remains active in the community. He is a member of Park Methodist Church in Bloomfield, NJ and is a participant in many church activities, such as serving on committees, singing in the choir, playing the piano for services when needed and working with 3- and 4-year-olds who attend the church’s day care center. Monthly he plays the piano for a sing-along at the Job Haines Nursing Home in Bloomfield.
