My wife and I were youth leaders for two small churches. We took most of the youth to a National Free Lutheran Youth Convention in British Columbia, Canada. We drove our conversion van as we wanted to stop in Missoula, Montana, to see family on the way. The rest of the youth rode in a rented bus from a transportation company.
The second evening there was a time for testimonies, and one of our youth, a young lady with Down Syndrome, got up from her seat and went to the microphone. You could tell she was nervous. It took her several moments to collect herself, as there were approximately seven hundred youth in attendance. She looked around, and in a soft, voice she said, “I love Jesus.” And again, she said, “I love, love Jesus. Jesus, I love you. And then she slowly walked back to where the rest of her group were sitting. It was what you would call a surreal moment. True silence. You could feel the Holy Spirit at work.
The following night there was again a testimony time. A young blond man, about sixteen or seventeen, got up. He said, “I’m a California surfer. I came here to party. I heard that young girl’s testimony last night, and as I went back to my room, I kept thinking of how much she loved Jesus and the courage it took to get up and give that testimony. I wanted that Jesus. I now have that Jesus. Thank you to that gal. I also love Jesus now.”
She loved Jesus so much that the Holy Spirit touched many who were at that conference. That is an awesome, powerful blessing.
If you know Jesus, give your testimony, and the angels will sing because they will be rejoicing.
