Betrayal is a common biblical occurrence, yet it is seldom talked about or preached on.
Betrayal is a common experience in church leadership, yet, again, it is seldom talked about or taught on.
This lack of conversation does not stop most leaders from being devastated by betrayal.
René Girard said, “We are never more blind than when we are doing violence in the name of God!” It is this blindness that obscures our vision of the mechanics and likelihood of betrayal.
In this book, Bishop F. Josephus (Joey) Johnson, II, uses his 45 years of church experience and extensive reading of anthropologist and theologian, René Girard, to give an explanation and set a proper expectation for betrayal.
