Karen Pourbabaee is a south Louisiana native, born in Lafayette, and raised along the banks of Bayou Lafourche, in the community of Larose. This Cajun community, steeped in the deep faith of Catholicism, was the setting for her early years of faith .Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church was the spiritual home where she first received the sacraments of communion, reconciliation, and confirmation, and in 1982, marriage. After a lengthy career in the healing profession, as a registered nurse, Karen’s hand returned to her love of writing. Her first book, Acadian Melody, was published in 2016, and celebrates her love for her Acadian roots. With Sacred Journey, her spiritual roots find expression in devotionals to accompany us throughout the holy season surrounding Christmas.
Karen writes from Edmond, Oklahoma, where she shares her life with her husband, Dr. Hassan Pourbabaee, and her daughter Leila, son-in-law Cody, and her three grandsons, Elias, Jude, and Arlo.
