Macy Hays is depressed and alone. At age fifteen, it seems her life is over. In the two years since her father left, she has lied about her age and worked to support four younger siblings. They're hungry and a hair's breadth from being homeless. Thus begins Macy's solitary journey on the mean streets of Dallas where she's expected to act like an adult one minute and a child the next.
When she meets James Pearson, age eighteen, she begins to experience love for the first time. Then he's shot. While he fights for his life, Macy is whisked away, under false pretenses, to California. They never get the chance to say goodbye.
Thirty years later, the self-sufficient Macy tracks James down and they ignite a love neither thought possible. As they plan the wedding, unexpected circumstances turn their world upside down. Desperate, James embarks on a spiritual journey. Macy rebels. Will she be able to break through her emotional walls to follow the path he's chosen? Or will anger and bitterness cause her to lose him forever?
Time and Again was inspired by a love story that began in 1962. Some of the characters and events are fiction.

Linda Horton's fiction and non-fiction essays and articles have appeared in various magazines and newspapers including Redbook, The Joyful Woman, Dr. Laura's Perspectives, Nostalgia, Liftestyles, The Nashville Tennessean, The Fresno Bee, and The Madera Tribune. Time and Again is her first full-length novel inspired by a true story that began in 1962.
