“There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to destruction” Proverbs 16:25 (NIV). In John 14:6 we are told that Jesus is the way and the truth and the life (NIV). Our lives do not have to become a long winding road of ups and downs, heartaches, and misfortunes. We can choose the straight and narrow way if we seek ye first the kingdom. Our past does not have to haunt us, rule over us, or keep us in self-made prisons. If we trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding; in all our ways acknowledge him, he will make our paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV).

I am a 1971 graduate of Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas, where I obtained a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing along with a double minor in psychology and sociology. To meet the requirements of the Board of Nurse Examiners, I returned to the university in 1977 and completed my Masters of science degree in 1980 in Health Care Administration. In 1992 I attended Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where I completed course work toward my doctoral degree in higher education.
I have served as trustee, lay committee member, taught young adult Sunday school classes, and sang in the sanctuary choir. From 1997 to 2003 I attended Bible Study Fellowship International. Later I worked with four- and five-year-olds and in hospitality.
