“Joy over trouble Water” is a compilation of poems intended generate overcoming life’s struggles. Although the poems are considered to be a work of fiction, the overall tone of the work and writing style may have a nonfiction view of life in general. These poems depict life as the author sees it while moving from Red-Hook- New York, and returning back to Bedford Stuyvesant. As she finds strength to overcome her struggles she endured in life. The reader cannot help but feel Sheena’s Pain and strength as they browse throughout the pages of the book because her writing will truly have the reader hanging onto her every word as her realism comes face to face with everyday life.
