Matthew 25:21 shares a statement from Jesus of the highest compliment and reward one wishes to gain at the end of his/her life: the recognition from God of “well done, good and faithful servant.”
The verse to many comes at the culmination of a life that was lived well and lived faithfully to a God that loved endlessly and a Savior who died to save us. It is even more important when one realizes that life is fleeting and living in faith is the only way to live.
Author Tikita Peagler shares how this understanding of scripture has led her to pursue what is right and good in God’s eyes in her new book, Well-Done: The Journey of a Well-Doer.
Within the book are several examples of characteristics that women who are well-doers for God exemplify as they go through experiences of life that are both good and bad. Among the topics are well-doers give themselves grace, are always praying, pursue with purpose, and more.
Enclosed within each well-doer characteristic are personal stories of the author and biblical stories to personify what the attribute is in real life, reflection questions, and a closing prayer. Readers will enjoy the stories about the author’s life and walk of faith with her family, as well as stories of the Bible that are as relevant today as when they were written.
Tikita’s hope is that in reading Well-Done: The Journey of a Well-Doer, readers will feel inspired to live their lives in a manner fitting to God, with the desire for God to commend them on their faithfulness and welcome them with open arms into heaven.
What we must remember is that we were each created with a godly purpose in mind that God will help us achieve if we surrender and follow His lead.
