In the 1980's she and her children were actively involved with Eastern European Bible Mission for several years by writing letters every month to Christians imprisoned for their faith, as well as their familiar, to encourage them and let them know they were not forgotten in their sufferings.
During the Goodwill Games of 1990 in Seattle, Washington she partnered with Open Doors, Athletes in Action, and Issachar Ministries coordinating the acquisition and distribution of just over 2,700 Bibles to visitors from the former Soviet Union.
Finding out that Christians imprisoned in Cairo, Egypt must support themselves, An connected with the Egyptian pastor who ministered to the prisoners in Cairo. For several years, she helped sell art and beadwork done by these prisoners which aided in their support while they were imprisoned for their faith.
Now she has written this book to encourage the Christian believers in Iran.
