What better day in life is there than the last day of school before summer break? To Torian, it will be spent seeing his Nana Re-re in Kansas for the summer.

Author Marita Mister has worked with students for the past twenty-four years, witnessing several having the same experiences as Torian: moving away from friends, going to a new school, and maybe even moving in with family. So, she felt led to write a book that covers several of these experiences children go through dealing with “grown-up” changes as kids.
Mirroring Torian after her own grandson, Marita wanted to show younger readers that even if they have to experience being the “new kid on the block,” good things can come from it.
