Joy would certainly be the first to admit that she is not a prolific writer, but a physician and surgeon by training. Her husband, Dr. David Miller, Christian Psychologist, encouraged her to write her life’s story believing that her sharing what God helped her overcome, could help others. Joy agreed to write some excerpts of her life.
This book is a personal testimony of God’s sustaining grace during and through severe physical disabilities, emotional abuse, and mental anguish. Having suffered multiple times of desperation, despair, and depression, the surgeon-author transparently shares these experiences of her own surgical and spiritual healing in an easy-to-read fashion, with the hope her readers will find the encouragement to “Hold On” to God through every crisis in their own lives.
