My book is a collection of memories of an eighty-four old woman who grew up in the 1940s and the 1950s. My family were farmers. My memories are working hard on the farm, warm summer evenings playing with my brothers in the twilight hours, Christmas on the farm with Grandma, Christmas programs at our one room country school. There are some sadness in my childhood but I chose to keep my book focused on happy times and to show the difference between the time I grew up and the way children grow up today.
My poems are about family, friends, holidays, spiritual and some that are just silly little verses.
Hope you will enjoy the life of this country girl who went to a one room country school with only thirty students and went on to a big city high school with over eight hundred students. I was scared when I entered the big school but I learned how to get to the rooms I needed.
I hope you enjoy my book. Thank you.
