Mary, a character in the book, is a dedicated Christian on a train traveling with her two daughters. She put her briefcase on the floor beside her as she looked out the window. About an hour later, another passenger, Randall, put an identical briefcase on the shelf above the seat across from Mary. Then he rushed to the restroom. The train jerked as it took off. Mary’s briefcase moved further down, and Randall’s briefcase fell to the floor near Mary. When Randall, a volant drug dealer, returned to his seat, he panicked until he saw a briefcase two seats back. Randall has yet to learn his briefcase was switched. Mary has Randall’s briefcase with the $7,000,000,000. Randall returns to his gang buddies, and they are horrified when they open the briefcase and find a Bible instead of their $7,000,000,000 drug money. Weeks later, with a strange twist of fate, Mary and Randall meet on an airplane. Randall has yet to learn that Mary was the person on the train who took his briefcase by mistake. The aircraft waited for the weather to change; Randall and Mary were at the same hotel. Weeks later, Randall and his other gang members were looking for their $7,000,0,00,000 in different states. The gang members think Randall is also looking for the money, but Mary’s kind and gentle manner distracts Randall. Mary believes God has answered her prayers, so she thinks God has put the cash in her briefcase because she has asked Him to help her provide for homeless people and runaway teens.
