Annie (King) Wilkins told stories of her probable odyssey from a young girl growing up on South Hampton Island in coastal Georgia. She narrated her life story to her grandchildren over the years and told how she is the descendant of Roswell King III, who is the grandson of Roswell King Sr.
Roswell King Sr. was once a slave owner in coastal Georgia, and later co-founder of the city of Roswell, Georgia north of Atlanta. With his entrepreneurial skill, he was able to build tremendous wealth leaving an inheritance to his family.
Roswell King III left a living trust to his second family in coastal Georgia. The betrayal, lies, and deception by the King’s family members deliberately kept the trust away from the rightful owners, which is the second family; the black family. This King family inheritance has not yet been resolved.
