I’ve had joyful highs and depressing lows but through poetry I’ve learned to not only navigate myself, but also help others during their storms of life. From loving weddings to heartbreaking funerals, I have helped people express emotions in writing that they couldn’t otherwise vocalize. Life’s circumstances, whether good or bad, set the foundation for this book.
I’m just a small town, country girl from Cairo, Ga that has always had the gumption to assist others even when my back was against the wall. My world could be tumbling down and I will still manage to help hold someone else’s up. Encouraging and uplifting others is one of my main priorities but acquainting people with God is my first.
My prayer is that this book becomes a guide to not only help navigate others through the waves of life but also leads them to live a life that magnifies God.
While in middle school, I developed a love for writing. This craft started from writing simple journal entries. Then, to make the entries more exciting, I incorporated rhymes to them. Sometimes, I would even write acrostic poems using the letters of different people’s names. I’ve always enjoyed uplifting and encouraging others, so I would write poems to do just that.
After a while, when I began experiencing different circumstances in life, I started using poetry as an outlet for my emotions. The more life happened, the more I wrote. The length and depth of my poems depended on how emotionally involved I was in a situation. I even started writing to reflect other people’s life experiences.
Today, I have written many amazing poems that I pray encourage, enlighten, motivate, and intrigue anyone who reads them.
