God had directed our lives in specific ways that prepared us for events that would transpire years later. Specifically, when our parents required long-term care, my wife, Julia, and I chose to alter our chosen life projectory to be their caregivers, which we believed to be God’s directive to “Honor your Mother and Father.” This choice produced challenges that resulted in relying on God for strength and provision. As we sought God’s direction during our experiences, He pursued us in ways that brought my wife and me closer to each other and strengthened our faith in God. Also, the choices and actions taken by us and others, no matter the motives were used by God for our good in ways we never dreamed. We hope our story will reassure you that obeying God produces rewarding results beyond what we expect.
