This is book #3 of a 4-book series introducing career task skill acquisition as a DIY alternative to educational debt. The first book titled “Nothing Will Work If You Are Not Willing To”” addresses the trainee’s attitude and willingness to submit to the trainer’s authority and conform to time-proven, evidence-based standards for human task performance related to operations and maintenance of mechanized manufacturing processes.
The second book titled “Talking Shop Talk” focuses on the many languages (oral, written, graphic, and symbolic) essential to the arenas of heavy manufacturing. Not only are the languages addressed, but the distinctive differences between traditional/linear and typical academic studies and integrated task-embedded training initiatives are emphasized repetitiously.
Now, in Volume 1, Pohlkotte shares an eight-step progression (training template … 8 Ts) essential in the introduction and development (through practice and performance of every language, trade, craft, task, and specific tool skill associated with job titles unique to manufacturing and diversity of processes. Like building blocks in a foundation, each building layers on top of previous layers.
Volume 2 will complete this journey, addressing the integration of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems essential to all automated process management.
