With one diagnosis, a Christian doctor and mother was handed yet another label: cancer patient.
Breast Cancer Through My Eyes is Dr. Michelle B. Calhoun’s honest memoir about her personal journey through breast cancer and her sixteen years as a survivor. Calhoun examines pain and sickness from a unique vantage point: that of an experienced physician and devout Christian. Her candid storytelling, personal reflections, and journal entries compose a profound story about pain, faith, family, and daily gratitude for God’s grace. The narrative, born of Calhoun’s deep medical knowledge intertwined with her unwavering trust in God, creates an empowering example for patients and believers.
Calhoun’s cancer journey taught her that even doctors aren’t immune to sickness, and similarly, that faithful Christians aren’t immune to suffering. The key, readers will learn, is relying on God for daily strength, healing, and a pathway through life’s struggles. Breast Cancer Through My Eyes is a testament to God’s enduring love. It encourages its readers to foster faith in God every day, but especially during our darkest times.
