One of the Enemy’s worst seductive strongholds is addiction.
Having fought the demons of alcoholism for over twenty-five years, Gigi Renfroe knew she had to find a way to stop, but didn’t know how. After being ministered to by an old friend and his mother and encountering a series of spiritual events, she walked into a home full of people she had never met before and her life changed forever.
It’s Okay to Cry: A Testimony of God’s Redemption and Transformation is her raw and inspirational story of overcoming the pain of the past. Familiar with a life in gangs from growing up in Chicago, enduring a toxic home environment, being a young, single mother, being a victim of domestic abuse, partaking in unhealthy relationships with men and women, and becoming an alcoholic, Renfroe has found herself in the darkest of places. Her perseverance to overcome, despite her falls, led her to realizing she needed the right stable support –the Lord’s support.
Her story proves that there is no one too broken, no scars too deep, and no sin too great that Jesus will not forgive or save them from. For everything she went through, she reveals what God has done for her and inspires those living in the darkness of sin, addiction, generational curses, and other unhealthy habits to run to God when all hope seems lost.
Gigi Renfroe is a wife, mother, and grandmother. Between her and her husband, they have eight children and seven grandchildren. She currently resides in Greenfield, Wisconsin, where she works in healthcare reimbursement, is an active member of her church, and serves as spiritual support on a well-known Bible app. Life nowadays keeps her busy, but she knows God graced her with new life, so she intends to live it to the fullest.
