And, she was blessed when she prayed for someone to teach her more about the Bible, salvation, and God and ended up meeting the love of her life; a Christian man who led a church youth group named George. Their love blossomed quickly, leading to marriage within a year of knowing one another. That love continued to flourish as they started a family right away and lived a life full of love, family, and faith.
Then came December 7, 2021… A day that would forever be etched in her memory and change her thirty-six-year marriage with George forever.
Finding Me: Heartbreak, Betrayal, and God’s Love shares Dorothy’s story of grief and healing after discovering her husband had sexually abused one of their own children without her knowledge. Blending storytelling along with journal entries she wrote, readers will witness the pain she endured from her perspective as she struggled with having to live with her husband after knowing what he had done, ultimately divorcing him. He was later sentenced and is now serving time in prison. She was left facing the struggle of overcoming heartbreak and finding herself.
