Ever found yourself running from God…like Jonah
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the story of Jonah, I will give you the extremely fast and paraphrased version of this story from the Bible. Jonah was told by God to go to Nineveh, and he refused. Instead of listening to God, he thought he had another path to take, which led to him being swallowed by a big fish and hung out in the belly of this big fish for three days, giving him the time, he needed to make the decision to listen to God.
Unlike Jonah, my journey was not an intentional act of disobedience. God created me to be an educator. However, my plans seemed to lead me on a journey that wasn't God's plan for me. My unintentional Jonah journey made it clear hearing God meant listening, and obeying His leading, which is a requirement to fulfill His calling.
Has God called you to take a difficult journey and everything in you and every circumstance seems to push you into every direction but His way? I believe my journey will encourage and inspire you not to run away from God. Rather, every time you get off track, run to Him!
