Assurance of salvation is not a luxury for the few but God's will for every believer. In God's Threefold Cord of Christian Assurance, Dr. Jerry R. Harmon guides readers through 1, 2, and 3 John, showing how these brief epistles form an unbreakable rope of confidence in Christ. John presents three tests that, woven together, provide believers with certainty: the doctrinal test of right belief in Jesus Christ, the moral test of obedience to God's Word, and the relational test of love for others. Drawing from pastoral insight and careful exposition, Dr. Harmon helps readers move beyond fear and doubt to rest in the promises of God and the evidence of His Spirit's work within them. This book will encourage Christians to grip the rope of assurance with both hands and live with confidence, joy, and steadfast hope in an uncertain world.
Dr. Jerry R. Harmon is the Senior Pastor of Grace Bible Baptist Church in Catonsville, Maryland, and President of Faith Theological Seminary of Catonsville. He holds both a Master of Divinity and a Ph.D. from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Germantown, Tennessee, and has pursued further Ph.D. studies in Ancient Near Eastern Studies at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
In addition to his pastoral and academic leadership, Dr. Harmon is the featured speaker on the nationally televised program *The Everliving Story*, where his clear and practical Bible teaching reaches viewers across the country. Over the years, he has preached God’s Word in churches, seminaries, colleges, and conferences throughout the United States and in many nations around the world.
With a deep love for Scripture and a passion for making its truth accessible, Dr. Harmon’s ministry is marked by a blend of sound biblical scholarship and heartfelt pastoral care. Whether in the pulpit, the classroom, or through television and writing, his goal remains the same—to point people to the life-changing power of God’s Word and to encourage believers to live with assurance, hope, and joy in Christ.
