The 2024 September Christian Writers Awards Writing Contest is now closed. This contest ended on Sunday, September 15th 2024 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time.
Entries of no more than 4,000 characters (including spaces -- approximately 700 to 750 words) are eligible.
Eligible entries must be in English.
Entries cannot be a previous Christian Writers Awards Writing Contest winner.
The content of eligible entries must be consistent with a Christian message and the historic Christian faith.
Xulon Press has final and binding responsibility for determining the eligibility of all entries. If Xulon Press determines that an entry is ineligible, the author will be notified accordingly and a full refund will be granted.
Entry Process
Authors may enter as many times as they like.
Each submission will incur a $49.00 entry fee.
Judging Process
Judges will evaluate each entry as it is received based on the following criteria: creativity, originality, theme, and writing quality.
Judges will be selected by the Xulon Press editorial department. Judges may include book reviewers, editors, librarians, and professors.
Winner will be announced on Tuesday, September 17th 2024. The winner will be notified by phone. All entrants will be emailed the winning entry.
Additional Conditions
Entrants retain the copyright to their story. Xulon Press shall have the permanent right in any and all media to use and exploit all radio, television, merchandising, promotional and publicity rights that publisher and author may have in connection with their participation in the Christian Writers Awards Writing Contest competition without further consent or payment.
Author also releases any claim they might have either by virtue of their participation in the Christian Writers Awards for use of their respective photographs, names, likenesses, voice, or appearances in connections with the Christian Writers Awards.
Prizes
The grand prize winner and a second and third place winner will be selected and announced by Tuesday, September 17th 2024. The announcement will be made via the official writing contest website and by email. The grand prize winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize, as well as a press release announcing their win to the media. The Xulon-issued press release will be distributed to 35,000 journalists and 250,000 subscribers through Google, Yahoo! News, Topix, eMediaWire, and on RSS feed. The second place winner will receive a $500 cash prize and the third place winner will receive a $250 cash prize.
